Nova Scotia offers wonderful fishing
opportunities. Both the mainland and Cape Breton Island are known
for interesting fishing, sightseeing, and family vacations. The sportfisher
will enjoy the bountiful yet under utilized provincial resources.
Fishing
in Nova Scotia is truly spectacular with countless options to choose
from. The province is almost completely surrounded by the
sea and is covered by freshwater. With 4,625 miles of coastline, over
5,400 freshwater lakes and countless numbers of rivers, streams and
brooks there is no shortage of places to wet a line. The
crystal clear waters boast a variety of species to test your skills.
Anglers
can fish for salmon, speckled trout and tuna in the nearby waters.
Rent or
charter a boat and cast your line into the deep blue waters off the
coast of Nova Scotia for cod, mackerel, flounder and herring. In many
locations along the Island's shores, boat captains are up before dawn
preparing lines for the many sport fishers who will venture out onto
the sea that day.
Luxury
resorts, inns, family resorts, cottages, and fishing lodges, are available
in price ranges to suit every budget.
It can be a great way for a family to spend their vacation time together.
