Nakina is well known for being the hottest fishing destination in Ontario. The wilderness north of Nakina is dotted with hundreds of lakes, which are stuffed with Walleye, Jumbo Perch and Northern Pike. The mighty rivers are full of the biggest Brook Trout you can imagine.
AMS Outpost Camps has outpost cabins on Ara Lake and Meta Lake with three outpost cabins on Stone Lake. These three lakes have incredible fishing for Walleye, Jumbo Perch and Northern Pike. It's not uncommon to catch 50 to 100 Walleyes in a day with many bigger trophy Walleyes up to 10-pounds being caught and released. Pike are just as easy to catch with Monster Northern Pike as big as 28-pounds being caught and released. The weed-beds are also stuffed with Jumbo Perch, which are the size of small Walleyes.AMS Outpost Camps also has an outpost cabin on Caviar Lake, which is a wide area of the famous Albany River. Our stretch of the river has three waterfalls and numerous rapids, which are all stuffed with the biggest Brook Trout in Canada. Brook Trout (Speckled Trout) are common around 3-pounds but guests have caught Brookies as big as 9-pounds. The Albany River is also stuffed with trophy Walleye and Northern Pike.
You don't need to spend your money going to over-fished lakes or lakes that are hard to fish. We are a small outfitter with only four lakes but our lakes are the best and receive a lot less fishing pressure than lakes run by the bigger outfitters. Fall black bear hunting is the best in Ontario. Hunters have the opportunity of seeing black bear in excess of 500 lbs. Our black bear hunting management unit is almost half the size of Rhode Island. The 3rd largest black bear in North America was taken from the Red Lake area (over 750 lbs).
Sandy Beach is a true fly-in fisherman's lodge located on Trout Lake 26 miles east north east of Red Lake, Ontario, Canada. Located in the waters are an abundance of Walleye, Northern Pike, and Lake Trout fishing. Sixteen and eighteen foot Lund boats, with updated motors, provide trouble-free boating.
Our well kept, modern cottages accommodate from two to eight guestsannd plentiful meals are served in our attractive main lodge. While you are here you will catch - and release - many fish, to grow even bigger and be caught again. You can also your fishing vacation with fall bear and duck hunting.
At Swampers Guiding & Outposts we will put you in on a big buck but basically the rest is up to your skill and persistence as well as shooting ability. These bucks will compete with bucks found most anywhere. Most of our hunters drive here since we are only a couple hours north of International Falls, Minnesota. But you can also fly into Winnipeg Airport and rent a car or arrange for us to pick you up.
We hunt the forest fringe backing onto many miles of wilderness as well as lakes, also private land .We have excellent meals and lodging. We do book many hunters/fishermen so please call early. We do not do sport shows as most of our customers are repeat or referrals. Our hunters especially enjoy the variety we use to hunt our whitetails - stand hunting, stalking, rattling, all work well and can yield you trophy whitetails. We have permanent tree and tent stands available but by all means bring your own portable(s) for certain setups if you like. Swampers Guiding & Outposts has acquired large acreages of private land that has seen very little hunting. We will have a few hunts in remote areas for guys willing to do their own cooking and hunting in stands. We also have a large mainly un-hunted bear area with some monsters call if interested. Great fishing is also offered with this package.

Our new lodge offers our customers a remote, peaceful experience with all the amenities on the south end of Long Lake 36 miles north of Terrace Bay, which offers 50 miles of lake and river system to explore. The entire area has excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, lake trout and outstanding wild brook trout up to 7 lbs. We keep boats on other area lakes that are available to our customers at no additional charge.
